Director of National Sales – Charter Schools
Overview
The Director of National Sales – Charter Schools is a senior leadership role responsible for driving national revenue growth, expanding market penetration, and strengthening presence within the charter school sector. This role provides strategic oversight of charter-school sales initiatives across multiple states, managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles while aligning solutions to the unique operational, funding, and governance models of charter schools.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience selling into charter school networks, CMOs, EMOs, and independent charter operators, with a strong understanding of charter funding structures, board governance, procurement practices, and enrollment-driven budgeting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and execute a national sales strategy focused on charter schools, including CMOs, EMOs, and independent operators
- Partner with local, regional, and national Operations teams to secure new charter school contracts
- Identify and develop new charter-school sales opportunities and growth regions
- Own the full national sales pipeline from prospecting through contract execution and renewal
- Prepare and deliver executive-level sales reports, forecasts, and updates to senior leadership
- Present solutions to charter school executives, board members, and senior administrators
- Build long-term relationships with charter school decision-makers and authorizing bodies
- Represent at national and regional charter school conferences and events
- Analyze market trends and competitive data to refine national sales strategy
- Meet or exceed annual national sales goals for charter school partnerships
Charter School Market Expertise
- Strong understanding of charter school governance and board-driven decision-making
- Knowledge of charter funding mechanisms and enrollment-based budgeting
- Familiarity with charter procurement processes and authorization structures
- Ability to manage multi-state charter school sales environments and long sales cycles
Travel
National travel required; approximately 50–60% depending on territory and charter network engagement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, education, marketing, sales, or related field
- 5+ years of sales experience with success selling into charter schools, K–12 education, or education services
- Proven experience managing national or multi-state sales territories
- Strong proficiency with CRM systems, sales methodologies, and pipeline analytics
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive and board-level audiences
- Experience working with charter school networks across multiple states preferred
